Other / Affected Software: Eve-Online and various other programs

Issue / Bug (in as much detail as possible):
As soon as you load certain programs up Aston crash�s. Every time I click on the Eve Online icon I get e crash. Other programs also crash but didn�t test many.

Is the issue/bug consistent (i.e.-does it happen everytime)?

What steps have been taken to try and fix the issue/bug?

Hey Bill,
Thanks for the tip. Lots of info, but not sure what to look for. I don't know where the server is looking for the weather and I don't know which port it is even using in the first place. If I knew the port that Aston menu uses, then I could free it up in comodo firewall to see if that is the problem.
Comodo also has a similar utility, but I have not had any luck with it either.

well lets see... running as admin, that's default for me (I think could retry it by actually right clicking and selecting that); I have not allowed it in my firewall settings tho, so that may be an issue; and I really don't know what other software could mess with it. However, there is a bug with Dreamscene that may also be occurring here: it is that I am using 2 separate graphic cards to render each monitor because apparently nVidia has been sitting around with their thumbs up their butts and haven't developed dual display support for SLI. Anyway, I know that Dream Scene doesn't support multiple cards so I figure maybe (just maybe) that's the case here as well. Other than that I can't really think of anything.

Issue(s) / Bug(s) (in as much detail as possible):
1. Installed Aston2 Panels and upon logging back in, Panels automatically disabled the "Individual icons for each desktop" option within Altdesk. Thus, blocking me from other active desktops. The option was greyed out and no matter what settings I changed within Panels or AltDesk would allow me to select that option.
2. The option for for uninstalling Panels was greyed out.
Is the issue/bug consistent (i.e.-does it happen everytime)? Yes
Is the issue/bug present in Explorer? No
What steps have been taken to try and fix the issue/bug? Manually uninstalled Aston2 Panels by using the task manager to "kill" the Aston2 processes (Menu and Panels), then running the Aston2 uninstaller from the installation directory. After the complete uninstall of Aston2 Panels, I was able to again select the "Individual icons for each desktop" option in Altdesk.

OK, guys and gals. The wonderful people at Gladiators Software has bestowed another gift upon us from the Aston2 product line. Aston2 Panels! We have been eagerly awaiting this release and now it has arrived. However, the Gladiators' team needs help from us, the users. They have released Aston2 Panels as a Beta product so that the users have a hand in helping to iron out the bugs.
So to help expedite the full release of Aston2 Panels, this thread will contain a bug list of issues within Aston2 Panels. PLEASE, DO NOT POST COMMENTS IN THIS THREAD UNLESS IT OFFERS MORE INFORMATION OR A SOLUTION TO A POSTED BUG. The easier it is to read the problems and/or solutions posted here will expedite the final release of Aston2 Panels.

Well, I can successfully start Panels, but I'm having other problems. Not exactly sure what your problem could be haxer, but let's go ahead and hit the obvious. Are you running Panels as Admin? Have you allowed Panels in your firewall settings? What other software do you have installed?

Notepad and a little skill with a graphics editing program is all you need. I highly suggest using an existing ank file, change the extension from ank to .zip and extracting the contents. Then, use that extracted ank file as a template for creating your own ank files.

Also, haxer, are you running Vista x86 or x64. I have Vista Business x64. I haven't tested Panels yet since I just got back from vacation, but I'll try it here in a few and post back the results.

Hi haxer! Are you running Avast anti-virus checker? As that happens to me on all of my computers when it automatically updates. On my Asus EEE PC, I usually have to reboot (not log off and back on) if Aston2 Panel crashed to get it to work again.

Welcome mfranzen! I don't know if this will help, but in a Command Prompt window type:

netstat /a 3

This will list all of your active ports every 3 seconds. To stop hit CTRL-C. If you want to send it to a file instead of the screen, use something like:

netstat /a 3 >c:\netstat.txt

Typing

netstat /?

Will show you a help for netstat. I am not running Aston2 at the moment, otherwise I will do it myself right now and tell ya.

Wallpapers will be supported in the A2Desktop component.
We are working on it, but this component isn't ready yet.

I selected Galaxy in both the menu and panel and both have a nice background in the mini preview. How do you get that background on the desktop?
