The one thing that i like better about litestep over aston is the fact that you can integrate/skin the winamps controls into things like the taskbar and what have you. I know there are some things out there that, for instance, add the controls to your system tray, but i am looking for something along the lines of being able to change the way it looks and where it is placed, and integrating it into the task bar. I cant code to save my life, so many you guys can do something for us, because im sure there are other people out there that feel the same. Thanks

OK, so I'm not going to answer your question - well, not exactly. How would you like to be able to control winamp with NO visible controls?

Interested? Well read on.

If you do a search on the winamp site, you will find a plugin called "winamp browser bar". This plugin is designed to place Winamp controls in the IE toolbar. However, the manner it works leads you to be able to use it a little more "cleverly". In the "browserbar" directory, there is a folder called links - each link contained therein calls a winamp function (play, pause etc). By assigning Aston hotkeys to each of these links, you can control winamp from the keyboard (I use Windows Z/X/C/V/B/N for the Rev/Play/Pause etc function). You can then get rid of any tray icons - and you can remove the IE buttons too if you want, as you'll have complete control without them.

Believe me, you'll get used to this little gem REALLY fast!

Regards,

hi, i've seen in some Litestep themes that clicking in a button in the taskbar near the systray changes the systray to the winamp controls... i think that it could be a good idea to think about it
