So I wouldn't normally impose my musical tastes on others, but I feel obliged to spread the word about Outkast - Idlewild, the new album. From my DA blog;

Aundrey 3000 & Big Boi are at it again with their music genius putting together a mighty fine collection of 25 tracks colaberating with their mates (from Sleepy Brown to Macy Grey) for the soundtrack to their up coming film.

I may add to this review but so far honourable mention goes to track 7, Morris Brown (Feat. Scar & Sleepy Brown). This mix of old skool hip hop, samba with hints of classic big band stokes my ears with it chorus of perfectly placed counter melodies harmonised perfectly, with live (hip hop feel) samba filling out the backs, full brass section, tastful bass & glorious vocals sung what must be in 8 layers. All perfectly matched and mixed.

Pure Musical Genius, no matter what your taste. So far I've had Hip hop (obciously) RnB, Jazz (strongly too! Very Happy), country, samba and rock.

If you don't like this album you are goth.

DAYUM!

Hey!! I like goth music! Mr. Green

However, I do wish to see the movie. I also like what I've heard from the album, so "impose your musical tastes" all you wish. Mr. Green

I'm all for exposing music of all kinds to all kinds - my younger son is about to experience his first gig - 8th birthday will give him Iron Maiden - not exactly cutting edge, but he loves it.

Regards,

Iron maiden ey? My first gig was when I was 8 I think too.. but that was Savage Garden :-/

However I do have some more music to push!!
I don't know if you guys will be able to get it over there, but New Zealand Drum 'n' Bass group Shapeshifter rock the dots. At first glance they seem like any other computer generated drum 'n' bass group.. but they ain't. They LIVE.
I went and saw them on Saturday night play live with the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra, wicked! They actually have 3 dudes rocking it out on a mix of keyboards, drummer pumping it out on a kit with the same snare drum that I have! (Very Happy) and having an orchestra play with them is just too origonal! So, if you can find it, get it! If you can't get it, check out smoke CDs to get it! (Do keep in mind that that's probably defaulting to New Zealand $ too...[/url]

Sorry for the confusion there, Shapeshifter and Shapeshifters are different groups.
Shapeshifters = http://youtube.com/watch?v=CDcOURigcEs
Shapeshifter = http://youtube.com/watch?v=yHnMcRUQP7U

Although they have their similarities, they are very different.
