I know you can set the transparency for altdesk, but is it possible to make a skin where the client area is totaly transparent? so that the icons float in some type of frame?

Yes, use magic pinky (RGB 255,0,255) to make transparent areas... Just make the are you want to see through pink and surround it by a border or anything and there's your floating desktop... One thing I don't know if Icons will still be drawn, but I think Altdesk will do that...

Michael

Tried that and unfortunatly the icons did not show up, bummer. I just desided to set the transparence on the entire object and leave it at that

I've run into a similar problem with that before - Icons will NOT show over transparent areas - the "cheat" way to get around that is to copy the background for the selected area where you are going to want the icons, and use that instead of transparency.

Why won't AltDesk support png's then?

So does this mean that there will be an update and pngs will be supported?

[offtopic] Thanks, V. I made it yesterday in about 5 min. I'm going to refine it a little more and then work on my avatar.[/offtopic]

I would first like to say , that unfortunately the peolple here are right. There is not way to set the programs transparency without sacrificing the icons. Now, what you could do is...tada... make a script that does nothing more than keep icon levels set to no or little transparency, and then in that same script just make the background image change to maybe 100% transparency.
