|
|
I've installed Aston 1.9.2 & 1.9.4 with the same results on each. I am running a Dell Inspiron 5100, 512mb RAM, P4 2.66Ghz processor, XP w/MC -- service pack 2 & a Belkin 802.11g wireless card.
As soon as I install Aston & log back in, my wireless card will not connect to my home network. I use the BELKIN software to connect to my BELKIN router. I do NOT use Windows to control my connections. I am not running Windows firewall & no password connection to access my network.
I have tried to switch shells to Explorer, but even when I switch, I have the same problem. The only way I've been able to reestablish connection is to un-install Aston & restore my system to a previous date.
I really like this shell, but if I can't connect to the internet, it won't work for me. Please help.

I'm trying to post my hijack this file, but it is not allowing me to post URLs. I will save the .txt file & send if needed.

Oh, & I don't meet the criteria listed above, seeing as I just registered yesterday & this is my first post/topic I've been involved in.

I'm guessing that after all the views & no response, I'm either the first ever with this problem, or no one has any clue how to fix it?
Really sucks, cause these shells are awesome! But if they knock out my internet, then they don't do me much good. I'll keep checking & maybe one day the shell will work & not kill my wireless internet card.

I assume the hijackthis log showed nothing? And I am at a loss, as Aston shouldn't have anything to do with the wireless at all.
Although what works in some cases like this without Aston is to uninstall the wireless driver. And then reinstall before having the card installed. Then install the card. I know a PIA, but this works a lot of the time.
As a side note, I run 4 computers here off of the network and they are running Aston without any problems. 3 are wireless and one is running HomePNA (wired using the phone line, like how DSL works in a way).
