hello, I was wondering is there a list of the differnet components you can use and a guide to memory use. I mean - if I use a side panel is that more memory intensive than just having 6 icons on the desktop (on the aston desktop) I mean icons with 3 icon states. not ank. just bmp. also how does a side panel compare to a top panel with drop down menu?

You mean like watching Aston.exe report on memory usage under the processes tab in the Task Manager?

no just a general guideline about what elements aare more memory hungry than others is a left toolbar more memory hungry than using a top panel or a vertical panel. is using about 6 objects on the desktop better than using a left toolbar for the same job

Oh that is easy to check yourself with the Task Manager. Just watch the memory usage when you turn on and off the plugins. Aston usually uses 10k to 20k, depending on the theme being used.
