There's an "AltDesk Desktops" folder on my desktoip, and in it is a Shared Desktop folder.

Does this folder need to be there? I have my folder settings to show hidden folders, so that one is just hangin' around...

I don't share the computer with anyone, so do I need access to "Shared Desktops"?

Regards,
Chuck Billow

The "Shared Desktops" directory is related to the multiple desktops. If you open that directory you should see more folders saying "Desktop 2", "Desktop 3", etc. (depending on how many virtual desktops you have) This is simply a way to add files and keep files to specific desktops. If you do not need this functionality you can open the AltDesk Preferences menu and deselect "Use individual icons for each desktop". This will remove the "Shared Desktops" folder. Though, remember that now what ever is on your main desktop will be displayed on all virtual desktops.

Well I surely don't want to do that!

Is there a way I could relocate it (off my desktop), maybe to me Documents folder? -- I know, I'm being picky. I just like my desktop clear...

Chuck

What OS are you currently using? For me, using Windows Vista Business x64 and Windows 7 Beta v7000, I this folder is hidden from the desktop. I do have "show hidden files and folders" active, so I'm not sure of the difference. Unfortunately, I do not know of any other way to hide/move the Shared Desktop folder without disabling the "show hidden files and folders" option. Confused

I'll check all of my settings again when I get back to my machine. Hopefully, we can figure this out. Mr. Green
