Hi all. Small problem here. Whenever I restart my login, either by rebooting or logoff/logon to Win 7, all of the toolbar icons reset to a generic folder icon (see attachment). For each one, I have to go and right-click, and select Change icon... Funny thing is, I don't actually have to change the icon. When the Change Icon window appears, it has the correct setting and all I have to do is click "OK" and then the icon image is corrected. But until I do this, they all show up initially as a plain folder icon. Is this a bug or is some other system setting causing problems?

Matt

Do you get your desktop icons uploaded ok?

Please if the problem repeats, right away copy and send us (support@) .log files which you can find here:

Yes. Desktop icons appear fine. Only the Aston toolbar icons are affected.
I have emailed the log file.

I tried uninstall/install Aston2 shell. I am still getting generic icons on all my aston toolbars at startup.

Also, I am not an administrator on this desktop so I wonder if that is part of the problem. (But I can get admin access).

Yes, this is the problem. You don't have enough rights to change icons.

I am currently running Aston shell, and have it set as my default, My OS is Windows Vista home basic.

When I boot I get a blank desktop, no Icons or start menu. I then have to go to my task manager and run Aston manually, I was wondering if there was some easy fix to this, or if its a common problem. Its not a huge deal, it just takes a little longer having to manually run the shell over having it run automatically on windows startup.

It's your firewall or antivirus which prevents Aston shell from
loading.

Please, run Task Manager - ShellSwp.exe from Aston2 folder in Program
files and switch to Explorer.

There are two possible variants of solution:

1. In order to install Aston you can temporarily disable your antivirus
and firewall software and enable it back after the installation is
complete.

2. Put Aston directory into the exception list of the antivirus
program
