|
|
Hello everyone,
Unfortunately I have zero programming skills and am in love with Aston.
I'd love to see a prayer-times plug-in that's low on resources, looks pretty, and basically shows the 5 prayer times, and plays a sound file when the time comes up.
They've got several free-standing apps, but I would want something integrated into my desktop.
For example, here is a really ROBUST one. I don't need all the side features. I just want the 5 prayer times updated daily and displayed on the desktop. And a wav file to be played whenever the prayer time comes.
islamicfinder. org/athanDownload.php
Here's another one:
muhaddith. org/prayer_times.html
and another :
salaattime. com
and yet another:
athantimes. com
Let me know if anyone is interested, or if anyone knows how one of these can be integrated with Aston to show on the desktop as an element. I'm willing to pay a bit, name your price too.
I apologize for the spaces in the domain names between the . and com. It won't let me post URLS yet. I'm too new
Thanks
Nooby

Thanks for the headsup! That program is great, I already have that installed... but unfortunately it doesn't do what I need.
I will contact that developer however. Thanks.
Any other ideas anyone?

Are the prayer times set to a certain time of the day?

Vera,
No, it's not set timings, but they are cyclical and are calculated.
I'm not sure of how they do the calculations, but I'm sure I can find out.
There are five daily prayers.
1. Fajr. Which happens 30-40 mins before sunrise, aka dawn
2. Zuhr. When the sun has gone past it's peak (noon)
3. Asr. When the length of a shadow is as long as the object itself
4. Maghrib. Sun set
5. Ishaa, complete darkness
For example :
For Tampa, FL... here is the prayer schedule for the month

If you want to make a link, just enclose it in a [ url]URL here[/url] tag. Removing the space in the first tag though (so you can see it.

Thanks,
That won't work since this forum has the mod which doesn't allow new registrants (aka spam bots) to post URLS. I should be able to post URLs in a couple of days though lol
It's a good idea, I actually will add that to my forums too. We have quite a bit of problems with spam bots. PPC6700Users. com
