Since 1.8 is out it's time to turn our attention to the next version. What can we look forward to? Here is my wish list in the order of importance;
1) Maintain button order on the taskbar when switching desktops
2) Ability to send a window to a different desktop via the system menu
3) Automatically send a window to it's designated desktop when it starts
What does your wish look like? Let's give the good folks at Gladiator Software some ideas.

Well both Maxthon and Trillian acts sticky in every virtual desktop. Even though they are not set as sticky. So something like to force unsticky.

How about the ability to change the positions of the individual icons position. the the creator says how many icon will appear for desktop but allowing them to place them where the creator want. instead of a straight line or box shaped icon lineup. so we could really create some intresting skins that are diagonal or round... this would allow us to set the icons in place with the shape...

I would really like to see an option to dock Altdesk to the taskbar. Something similar to Litestep's VDM's. Also, I think that the ability to grab an application's title bar and drop it to the desired desktop would be a great idea as well.

I also like this idea but given a choice I like the idea of doing this via the System Menu better.

Interesting... I had gaim do that this morning but after I shut it down and restarted it stayed on it's assigned desktop. I also use Maxthon but it seems to stay put as expected. Don't you just love things that seem to be completely illogical?

Yeah really! I would like them to work right, but no dice. Maybe there are something in the options of these two programs that I am missing. Btw, I tried GAIM and it worked great until it logged on to MSN. Then the whole thing crashes. Something else to work on.

Thanks to you TxDot! I played around with Maxthon and...
-> Options
-> Maxthon Options
-> General (tab)
-> Allow only one instance of Maxthon (unchecked)
Now it behaves correctly. Now to get Trillian to butt out in other virtual desktops.

Shoot! Maxthon is acting sticky again after a logoff. It seems others has had this problem as well. Trillian has been working fine after I learned to minimize it to the tray before starting AltDesk.

While trying ALTDESK (frankly speaking it is the best I found around), I just miss 2 features:
Files (icons) drag and drop from current desktop to another.
It would be so nice and easy to take an icon from your current desktop and drop it to the proper desktop on the altdesk toolbar!
Windows toolbar integration.
Again, it would be so nice to have either the same current altdesk toolbar integrated into the windows one, or at least desktop switching available as shortcuts on the quick launch area.
If you know a way to get some of above functionlities with current version (1. , please tell me...
Ciao,
Figgio

Icons can be draged from one desktop to another. Did you fail to do it?

Try to take a folder or a file from your desktop#1 and drop it over the second button (desktop#2) of AltDesk Window (the "SwitchBar" attached): does it work on your system?
Not on mine!

I use AltDesk v1.6 figgio. And dragging one icon to another desktop works fine here. And I use it all of the time too. I love this feature. And it is this big feature that sold me on AltDesk. And it works the same with or without Aston Shell too.

Works fine here with 1.7.0. I'll upgrade to 1.8.0 and let you know if it works there. If it does, figgio, I recommend that you post your system specs, what programs you currently have running (autostart), and what files/folders you're attempting to drag 'n' drop. Hopefully we can find the cause of your problem and offer a speedy solution.

Yes, it works in 1.8 just as it did in previous versions. I do it all the time. You do have to have a bit of patience when you put your mouse over the icon of the item you want to drag OR you'll end up dragging the whole switchbar. You should notice the icon change from a flat appearance to more of a button appearance. If you have the Display window thumbnauils in hints option checked (Preferences->Interface) you'll know you've got the icon selected when the preview window pops up.
