|
|
So whenever I right click-->new element and pick a graphic for it I always try to give it a label. The problem I have is when I try to add text in the "Elements Title" box in properties the text appears well below the intended element on the desktop.
It inserts the correct graphic, but drops the Title below the graphic every time.
Can someone maybe point me in some directions to help?
I am using Aston 1.9.2 which I got at the giveawayaday site for free. I intend to purchase it if I can get to the point where I am creating my own themes. I do very well with photoshop so graphic making is not an issue. I have looked in the theming tutorial for this issue with no luck.
Thank you in advance -=[Ollie]=-

You want the text to be on top of the element that you put on the desk top?
If so, I would suggest putting the text there in photo shop. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think you can adjust the location of the text. It is automatically set beneath the element image.
It would be cool if you used ank files to animate the text on mouse over. This way you rely less on where Aston puts the text and more on how you want it to look. Hope that helps

Cool thanks
I was curious as to whether or not it could be done. Apparently not, but I will go the .ank route. It will be better anyways. Thanks for reminding me about them!
There is a plugin called Top Panel on the Aston homepage that will create the items for me that I was looking for.

you know that Aston comes with toppanel right? It is called panel for aston 1.9.2 (since you have 1.9.2) I think. Go to Aston Master and in there go to plugins. Make sure it is checked. If not you can manually add it by clicking add and selecting panel.plug

Aston comes with Panel, which is the successor to TopPanel. TopPanel is old, don't use it.

You don't have any problems to continue to use it for the themes that want TopPanel, right? Or do you think it would be wiser for us to modify those older themes?

I'd take the time to switch it over to Panel, it's a lot better and more theme switchable.
