MPC won't play fullscreen, wallpaper doesn't update right

Media Player Classic won't play fullscreen as long as the Aston process is running. It plays windowed videos fine. I tried disabling the taskbar preview thing, cuz that seemed to mess with video a bit, but that didn't fix anything. Only ending the Aston process seems to rectify this issue. This problem is with 1.9.4, I did not have this problem in 1.9.1.

I use a program: http://johnsadventures.com/backend/BackgroundSwitcher/ which worked just fine in Aston 1.9.1. It changes the wallpaper according to user specifications. Now in 1.9.4, when it goes to the next wallpaper, it doesn't update the background, and I either have to Recycle the desktop or take an open window and move it around the screen to see the new picture.

I'd keep using 1.9.1, cuz it was fairly bug free, except it won't work anymore (it has many many errors, and I can't edit anything, icon, panel, you name it) with the Proactive Defense enabled on Kaspersky as of a few weeks or months ago. But that's 1.9.1, and I doubt I'll go back.

Also, a program called Deskmates never worked with Aston, I haven't used that in quite a long time, but it would be nice if it worked with Aston. What would happen is that the Deskmates program would move the animation behind windows when you move the mouse. Well, in Aston it would go behind the windows AND the background of Aston, so you could no longer see it. It didn't work in 1.9.1, I don't know if it works in 1.9.4. Just a side note, I don't much care about this issue.

I really like this program, and I'd love to keep using it, but so many of these issues I've come across really make it less enjoyable to use my computer. I'm looking for as much feedback as possible. If there is anything I can do to help this become a better shell, I would be happy to.

Alot of my icons are now not showing properly since I updated, for example: my hard drives, jpg images.

edit: fixed this problem, when I uninstalled 1.9.1 the theme containing all of my icons was also removed. I've put that theme and it's icons back in my Aston folder, so now they display just fine.
