I have the latest version of ashton. For some reason my volume controls on my keyboard(Saitek Eclipse) no longer work. This isn't a really complicated keyboard with 20 extra buttons on it, and volume control on the keyboard is kinda crucial for me I was wondering if there is something I can do about this.
Sorry if this is answered somewhere else, I tried to search and got an error
BTW I am using Techno dream theme (Number 2 if sorted by most popular on the Download list)
Thanks in advance
EDIT: I found it, looking in another section of the forums, BTW the
"*sigh* I really wish people would use the search button" smart mouthed comment would only be applicable if the damn thing worked

It is ASTON shell. And please try a little harder to find an answer to your problem next time. The answer to this question is 2 posts below this one.

... or UNcheck Multimedia key support, depending on what you have at the moment. This can also work.

Correct. I believe the official response should be to "toggle" the Multimedia Key support option.

Same thread slightly different topic. My volume control in the taskbar stopped showing. I checked the control panel and it is set to appear. I tried recyle and rebooting but the volume control icon refuses to show. Any Ideas?

Right-click the Aston systray icon, and select Setup Tray Icons and see if the volume control icon is in that list. If it is, check the checkbox to make it always show. Maybe that will help...

I have this same issue. wish i had a solution for you, but i dont.
I've found that I can get the systray icon to come back by disabling the systray icon in control panel, then hitting apply, then re-enabling it, then apply again.
Something else that you might be able to do, is to put a shortcut to sndvol32 somewhere on your desktop.

Zealot - Your fix works. Not sure why it disappeared in the first place, but its good to know that by doing what you said brings it back. I did put sound32 on the panel though just in case.

Hi
I got the same problem as mentioned in the first post.
Got Vista 32, Aston 1.9.4 and a Logitech G15 keyboard.
The problem is, unchecking(or the other way..) the mentioned checkbox doesn't help.
All other buttons work.
I searched the forum but the only solution I found is the multimedia keyboard checkbos. Please slap me if I overlooked something on this forum.
Thanks
Arsaneus

Just checking, (I'm sure you tried this) did you recycle after trying each (checked or unchecked)?

darn. Well then, unless someone else has any ideas, I would suggest emailing suppotr[at]AstonShell[dot]com and telling them your problem. They may be able to fix this in an update of Aston.
