Was wondering When a Plugin Would be Set up For Windows Media Player.
Or intergrated into a Theme.

It's doable, but things like Winamp are easier. With WMP you have to do a lot more coding (I've looked into it). What all are you looking for the plugin doing anyway?

For Music mostly with the plugin to be set in the taskbar like quick launch with the options to switch between songs play stop pause. With the typical options. Never liked winamp i have my windows media player tweaked just right and just wanted some extra touches .

Ah, well maybe one day someone will make one. I don't have any plans to learn how to interface with WMP right now.

I have a test plugin that I was working on (it's actually listed in the Themes section where me and nerio were talking about another program I've been working on) that I was going to learn how to access things like iTunes and Foobar and WMP etc., but I stopped work on it. :/ I only got to Winamp

i think wmp plug should be maked, it's very useful, because imho wmp is better than winamp.
I don't know what i can make own plugin, but i know that, wmp plugins for other applications like sidebar are ready and it may be useful for creating plug for aston.

I am looking for something that minimized WMP to the bottom tray (I've been up for 26 hours, can't think of the name for that)
I don't know if it is doable, because alot of the themes have the bottom tray on the sides, or on the top.

A WMP plugin would be great! I have my files separated into genres and WinAmp just doesn't do it for me. I like the minimize to tray feature in Windows XP, but I like the AstonAmp feature even better. It would be great to have a similar plugin for WMP. Thanks!!!

WMP for the lose - get mediamonkey. It's much better at organising large collections of music.

I think basically what this topic illustrates is that everyone has their own opinions and also don't fully understand how much effort must go in to making a plugin of this magnitude. I could see plugins popping out for every media player under the sun if people were getting paid to do it, but since it is all kind of on a "I guess it would be fun to try this..." basis, people should be satisfied with what the have, or learn to do it themselves. (I'm doing both Using WinAmp for the time being, and getting a degree in computer science to learn how to code my own crap!)

Seems like an interesting approach would be to make a plug in that uses the PostVirtualKeyEvent API to post VK_ codes used by multimedia keyboards. Then it would work with everything. Maybe I'll try that soon.

Windows Media Player is probably the most used Windows Player. So a plug in would be really cool for it. And I too like WMP over others because I have all of the codec (free K-Lite) for everything, even Real and QuickTime to run under WMP. Plus WMP player works with my media keys, while nothing else does.

You are probably right about that, but it really isn't hard to download WinAmp. The whole media keys thing is a bit of a disappointment though, I have them on my keyboard too and I sometimes wish that they were compatible with WinAmp.
