aston.exe accesses every few seconds the registry

My problem:
Aston accesses every 5 seconds the registry and thus causes harddisk access all the time.

With the tool RegMon I found out that the accordingly registry entries are the following:

Thanks for this hint, but the automatic update function is already disabled, this can't be the reason. The balloontips are disabled, too.

Tried Aston v1.9.2, now upgraded to 1.9.6.
OS - Windows XP SP3.

Constant registry calls produce undesirable disk activity.

Please try switching off all network plug-is as "a-monitor", etc.
